In 1978, Occupational Safety and Health Standards was formulated by the Bureau of Working Conditions under the Department of Labor and Employment to implement the mandate of the constitution to “safeguard the workers social and economic well-being as well as his physical safety and health”.  Some provisions of the Labor Laws requires companies to install mechanisms and programs to safeguard employees health and safety.  This includes making the work environment safe for work and monitoring and reporting to authorities incidents of illness, injuries, or accidents that employees may encounter in the conduct of their functions and duties.  This job falls under the realm of human resource management.
