Graduates should have skills for the future – senator

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian wants senior high school graduates to be prepared for the upcoming industrial revolution. The senator endorsed the new AI research center as part of the AI roadmap, which aims to prepare K-12 students for the fourth industrial revolution, also known as "industry 4.0."
AI is forecast to raise Southeast Asia's gross domestic product (GDP) by up to $1 trillion by 2030, according to research firms EDBI and Kearney.
The Department of Education and the Department of Information and Communications Technology signed an agreement in April to establish the PEN, which will expedite the installation of digital connectivity in public schools.
