Led by Labor Secretary Silvestre ‘Bebot’ Bello, informal sector workers and some 3,600 displaced or disadvantaged Masbateno, including returning OFW and youth interns received 43.2 million pesos from the labor department, September 11.
It is a livelihood assistance for some that are recovering from the typhoon Jolina, worth 3.3 million from pangkabuhayan program such as the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), and 34.8 million pesos Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantage/Displaced Worker (TUPAD).
Bello told the beneficiaries as he also reminded them to take care of their livelihood programs, he said that “ Ang utos ng ating Pangulo, ang kuwarta sa tao. Inyo ‘yung pera. Hindi niyo utang sa akin yan, hindi niyo ‘iyan utang sa DOLE. Iyan ay pera ninyo, dapat lang na mapunta sa inyo,”.
