City of Baguio Boosts PhilHealth-CAR’s Claims Processing Through Student Employment Program

The Cordillera Region-City of Baguio, led by Mayor Benjamin Magalong was extended the assistance to PhilHealth Regional Office-CAR (PRO-CAR) under its Special Program for the Employment of Students, by assigning underprivileged but deserving students including out-of-school youths in the processing of claims submitted by health care providers.
Two (2) months ago, two batches of students with nine student apprentices assigned to provide clerical assistance in processing high volume of claims. The student apprentices perform simple encoding, sorting, tagging and filing of claim documents. They are compensated by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the City Government of Baguio.
To protect those claims information and following the data privacy, student apprentices were asked to sign a Non-Disclosure agreement (NDA). And of course most importantly, student apprentices should follow health protocols that being implemented in the office.
